Avengers game characters: all playable heroes from Marvel Avengers game

Looking for a list of Marvel Avengers game characters? The Marvel Universe is a pretty massive place. You’ve got everyone from old Spidey to the strangest characters (that’s Dr Strange to you) across the comic book, movie, and TV adaptations series, and now we have the brave hero game cast. and fierce villains to be worried about too.

The Avengers game is your chance to play as some of the characters you know and love from the Marvel Universe, and meet friendly and hostile faces along the way. If you’re familiar with the movies, you’ll get a good feel for most of the cast, but you’ll be less familiar with characters like Ms. Marvel, the game’s main protagonist.

Depending on which platform you are playing on, this list can change as well, so be sure to check if the hero you want is on the platform of your choice. So let us walk you through the main characters in the game so you know exactly what to expect when the Avengers game release date arrives.

  • Abomination
  • The ant Man
  • Black Panther
  • Black Widow
  • Captain America
  • Hawk Eye
  • Pontoon
  • Iron Man
  • Kate Bishop
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Spider Man
  • Tyrant
  • Thor

Abomination is, why, an abomination. One of the central villains of the game, you are sure to face this villain at least once throughout the story. Physically, Abomination isn’t far from what you might expect from the Hulk – huge, muscular skin that you might not want to touch with your bare hands, and no shortage of gamma radiation. All normal stuff, right? Well, all the same origins but Abomination will never be able to return to human form, unlike Bruce Banner.

The Hulk and Abomination are natural enemies, and fighting their differences is bound to be fun.

The ant Man

While he’s not a playable character, it would be hard not to mention Ant-Man, or rather Hank Pym, as the character in the game. If you’ve watched the MCU, he’s not Paul’s character. Rudd, Scott Lang is the character of Micheal Douglas. Hank Pym is the mastermind behind a lot of awesome (and scary) tech, including Pym Particles, which are the science behind Ant-Man’s shrinking ability.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like we get to play the part of Pym, but we’re glad he’s part of it.

Black Panther

It is almost certain that Black Panther will be in Marvel’s Avengers. During launch week, Crystal Dynamics hosted a War Table presentation that began with a commemoration to Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played Black Panther in the MCU who tragically passed away days before the game’s release. It looks like Crystal Dynamics was originally going to preview Black Panther, but out of respect, they decided this War Table was not a good time to do so.

Black Panther will be in Marvel’s Avengers, however, its release will come at a later date and we’ll find out if we can play the role of T’Challa.

Black Widow

Black Widow is an icon and a serious badass. She’s a playable character, of course, but some might be hesitant to play her because she’s the only one in the cast who isn’t exactly “great” (Tony Stark doesn’t count with the costume).

However, Black Widow’s skills and mechanics are some of the best in the game, and Crystal Dynamics has worked hard to make her feel as powerful and useful as her peers.

Captain America

If you’ve just heard about the game, you might want to stop reading here and go watch the trailer so it’s not a spoiler. The story of the Avengers game begins with the devastating loss of Captain America and many innocent civilians on “Avengers Day”.

You will be able to play as Cap at the very start of the game, but after that it will be just a distant and heartbreaking memory, or at least that’s what Crystal Dynamics suggests.

Hawk Eye

Hawkeye is not in the original version of Marvel’s Avengers, but he will eventually find his way into the game as a DLC character. He’ll first be wrapped up in the segment of Kate Bishop’s story where it looks like he got into a bit of a mess with AIM, before addressing his own story later. If you are looking for an archer to play – Kate Bishop is your best bet right now.

“Hulk smash” is an old saying you might know, which comes from who knows when, but no one knows the true meaning better than the Hulk himself. Where would the Avengers be without their adorable Loki Crush Machine.

Bruce Banner is, of course, a genius scientist, but when he’s a little upset (or maybe even angry) he transforms into an alter ego called the Hulk. In this form, he is the strongest of the Avengers, but also the most unpredictable. The Hulk skills certainly seem to be a top priority in any case.

Iron Man

Iron Man, Tony Stark himself, is a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers game. The billionaire, playboy, philanthropist is the most charismatic of the merry superhero bunch and has the most technologically advanced setup.

With one hundred and one ways to outsmart enemies, it’ll be fun to play with the Iron Man costume while listening to Tony’s witty banter. The Iron Man skill set looks like a lot of fun to play with

Kate Bishop

She was on the leaked playable character roster in Marvel’s Avengers and now we know Kate Bishop is officially coming to Marvel’s Avengers. The archer tells us and the Avengers that his position in the story is “complicated” and his trailer shows that his story is tied to Hawkeye’s involvement in an AIM program. Its story will be Marvel’s Avengers first post-release operation and will begin at the end of the Avengers Reassemble campaign mode.

Of course, a lot of his powers will be archery based like Hawkeye’s, but with a bit of teleportation added as well. As Clint’s protege, she’ll likely play the same as her friend, however, they’re bound to have their own skills and tips when the time comes.

A man on a sustainable orange kayak? No, it is actually a mobile organism designed only to kill. We like our acronym better. If you haven’t guessed that MODOK is a villain, we’ve got some news for you. While he hasn’t been a part of the MCU (yet), MODOK is one of Marvel’s most notorious villains and he will lead AIM, the henchmen of the Avengers game.

Cruel and intelligent supervillain, this grotesque being will do anything to destroy the Avengers once and for all.

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel, or Karmala Khan, is at the center of this story. If you’ve been following the trailers and reveals, you’ll know Ms. Marvel is solely responsible for trying to bring the Avengers together.

She’s young, smart, and knows the Avengers through and through – you’ll need all of those assets to make them heroes again.

His powers are a lot of fun to play. “Embiggening,” as it is called, allows him to change the size and shape of his body, stretch or become a giant at will. In Marvel Avengers, you’ll have a chance to explore what she can do, but here’s a full list of Ms. Marvel’s abilities.

Spider Man

Bad news for PC gamers, Spiderman is come to the game, but not for you. Playstation gamers would have access to Spidey because it is Sony exclusive in the same way the Spiderman game is PS4 exclusive. Either way, we didn’t want to play like a stupid spider anyway.

We agree, Taskmaster looks more like a new weight loss tool than a villain, however, his creepy mask convinced me not to ask him what Weight Watchers program he is on. Tony Masters is the mysterious enemy muscle of Marvel’s Avengers. He’s a genius assassin and tactician, better than anyone else, and it helps that he’s loaded with superhuman steroids.

Taskmaster isn’t in the MCU movies yet, but he’s in the comics and will be a villain in the next Black Widow movie, so he’s bound to be a good opponent for Natasha Romanov to face.

when we want to To grow up, we also want to be a god of thunder – but Thor currently has that position nailed down. The mythological being joins the fight with more brilliance than most of his peers, but with just as much dedication.

In the story trailer, his hammer (Mjolnir) rests at the base of a Captain America memorial statue – possibly a sign that he hung up his cape after his team failed to save a friend and many civilians. As goofy as Thor is in the movies, he is perhaps the most dedicated of the Avengers in the game, and Thor’s skills are quite powerful.

Leaked playable characters

We already know some of the superheroes that will be coming to the game at a later date, namely Hawkeye and Spider-Man – but they might just be the start. Over time, rumor has it that a much longer roster of heroes will arrive in Marvel’s Avengers.

According to this tweet, the dataminers have unearthed a list of new playable characters, including:

  • The ant Man
  • Wasp
  • Vision
  • Black Panther
  • Dr strange
  • Falcon
  • Mar-Vell
  • Mocking bird
  • earthquake
  • Winter Soldier
  • Scarlet witch
  • Captain Marvel
  • Kate Bishop
  • She-Hulk
  • War machine

However, there is no official confirmation of this, and we already have Ant-Man in the game as an NPC. We’ll just have to wait and see if it all comes together.

So these are all the characters that adorn The Avengers game that we know so far. It’s a dynamic group and we can’t wait to try the game.
